WHAT ARE MINT® PDO THREADS?
Injectables Anti-Aging Clinic is excited to offer the rapidly-growing non-surgical anti-aging treatments, MINT® PDO Threads, MINT® Non-Surgical Facelifts and MINT® Fox Eye Lifts to our patients. PDO Threads are made up of a material called PolyDioxanOne, a malleable and durable polymer that our body naturally absorbs over a period of time. This treatment is ideal for anyone noticing signs of aging across the face and neck, and are wanting to boost collagen as well as lift and tighten their skin.
There are three primary PDO threads available:
PDO Mono Threads: the mono threads are placed under the skin to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. These threads create this effect through a complex process called Mechanotransduction. A processes of which your cells sense and respond to mechanical stimuli by commencing a healing activity which stimulates the release of growth factors.
Barbed PDO Threads: the barbed threads target skin redundancy and works off a mechanical pull of the threads inserted under the skin to create a lifting effect. These threads are pulled to lift sagging skin and depending on the placement can restore volume to its correct place. Barbed PDO threads can be an independent treatment or can be paired with mono or double screw threads.
Double Screw PDO Threads: the double screw threads are used to restore lost volume in smaller areas such as the marionettes or nasolabial folds. These threads differ to the others as they consist of a double twist of PDO thread, which once placed under the skin untwists and causes Neocollagenesis to occur around the thread. Collagen networks are then formed throughout the surrounding tissue, mimicking a solid filler and creating a subtle volumising effect.
FILLER AND PDO THREADS
If a client is wanting filler and PDO threads it is advised that the filler is injected first and the client waits at least 2 weeks before doing the threads. This is due to the multiple fine sutures of the PDO threads still being present in the epidermis for 12 weeks. PDO threads sit in the superficial dermis and filler sits in subcutaneous layer so they don’t actually upset each other on an interaction perspective but it is more to do with actually pushing the needle through the skin, you are at risk of hitting a thread.
PDO THREADS AND COVID VACCINE
There is currently no data from the FDA about PDO threads but for a caution perspective 5 days either side to let the body run its natural course is advised.

Ultimately revealing a younger and more revitalised appearance. The treatment involves fine collagen threads being inserted within the skin, stimulating collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. This stimulation of proteins results in long term benefits that continue to improve over time.
HOW LONG DO THE EFFECT OF A PDO THREAD LIFT PROCEDURE LAST?
The threads last in the tissue for about a 3 month period and the lift lasts around 12 months. So it is a procedure you can keep doing. You can do it every 6 months.
MINT® NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT $3990+
Injectables Anti-Aging Clinic’s Non-Surgical Facelift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that aims to lift and lighten the superficial fat pads of the face and neck. This treatment supports sagging skin caused by aging and is ideal for deep nasolabial folds, heavy jowls and sagging cheeks as well as restoring lost volume overtime.

Injectables Anti-Aging Clinic’s Fox Eye Lift treatment aims to create the heavily desired cat eye or fox eye look. It provides a lift to the brows and can help combat hooded eyes or give you the ‘Hadid’ pulled back look. This procedure involves the use of dissolvable threads that lift and elongate the eye, creating a more almond like shape. MINT PDO Threads are used in all of Injectables Anti-Aging Clinic’s thread lift procedures and are inserted under the skin providing a source of tension and stimulating collagen production resulting in a natural skin tightening effect.
HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF A FOX EYE PROCEDURE LAST?
The results of a Fox Eye Lift can be seen immediately and will improve over the following 3-6 months. The treatment may last up to 6-12 months depending on the laxity of the skin and lifestyle factors.
HOW DOES THE PROCEDURE WORK?
Thread treatment sessions can be expected to take between 60 – 90 minutes, however this can vary based on how many threads are required to be inserted to achieve the desired results. After a … is applied/given the PDO threads are inserted into the skin to produce a tightening, lifting or volumising effect. These threads act like a support structure for the skin. There are no incisions made or stitches required during this treatment.
WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME?
Clients should expect excessive bruising and swelling that may last for up to ten days. The skin may feel tender and regular cold compress application is encouraged for a week post treatment. Some clients may experience a zinging sensation from nerve endings (this only last for around 3-4 weeks), this sensation is the thread being reabsorbed by the body as it is binding.
